Project-Based & Bilingual

Our project-based learning approach challenges students to examine their existing knowledge and apply it in a variety of environments, in thematic units that tap into their authentic experiences. Projects integrate knowing & doing. Students solve problems, struggle with complex questions, propose solutions, and explain ideas in their native & target languages.

Active Participation in Accessible Topics

Students fully participate in their learning by thinking, discussing, investigating, and creating. In Ingenious Schools, students are asked to practice skills, solve problems, struggle with complex questions, propose solutions, and explain ideas in their own words through writing and discussion. Students acquire a deeper knowledge through active exploration of real-world challenges and problems. An integral part of student and teacher discovery and exploration of their own learning is to apply knowledge in varied environments. Students and teachers that have regular, in-depth, and sustainable relationships with other students and teachers, in other cities and countries more deeply move through their educational journey. Project-based learning refocuses education on the student, which yields drive, passion, creativity, empathy, and resiliency in students. These cannot be taught out of a textbook, but must be activated through experience.

Bilingualism Through Active Learning

The Ingenious bilingual approach is rooted in active learning and bilingual pedagogical approach called Task Based Learning. Students drive their own learning using more than one language, as a way to enable their participation in a global community and participate in international projects with peers in other cities and countries. We elevate the active learning process by requiring students’ active learning in and through a second language using a research-driven approach.
